Why we included this project

Lightdash treats business intelligence as code: metrics, charts, and dashboards live in files instead of being assembled click by click. You define the metrics, joins, permissions, and caching once in a governed context layer, and every dashboard, AI agent, or data app pulls from that same definition. Teams already on dbt or a data warehouse can use it to offer conversational analytics or embedded BI without letting business users wander outside approved definitions. Coding agents can edit metrics and charts through the CLI and MCP, and changes go through previews, CI checks, and pull requests like any other code change.
