Why we included this project

HacxGPT-CLI is a terminal chat client for people who want to talk to strong models and keep control over how strictly replies get filtered. It ships its own lightweight API engine, so providers like OpenRouter and Groq work without pulling in the official OpenAI or LiteLLM SDKs, and it stores configuration plus machine-locked encrypted API keys under ~/.hacx in your home directory. Session save and load commands, along with a panel for chain-of-thought reasoning output, make it practical for long conversations and shell scripting. It is a minimal, cross-platform tool rather than a heavyweight chat UI, which suits developers who like to experiment from the command line. Just read the non-commercial license before using it inside a paid product.
