Why we included this project

Grida comes at design tooling from the opposite end of most AI products: instead of handing you a stack of generated mockups, it gives you an actual editable canvas. The core is a Rust and Skia 2D engine compiled to WebAssembly, with a DOM fallback renderer and a headless Node.js path for running export and rendering jobs in CI without a browser. Around that sits an SVG editor, a Figma import route, and a Figma-to-code helper, so a decent slice of the design-to-development loop lives in one repo, with database/CMS and forms wired up for Supabase. The AI features are real but not the headline. What you get is a serious canvas foundation you can drop into a React app or extend through its SDK, which makes it more useful as a building block than as a finished AI design product.
