Why we included this project
Dyad brings the v0 and Lovable style of app building to your own machine, so the whole loop of describing an idea and getting a working web app back happens locally. You bring your own API keys and point it at whatever model you like, which keeps your code off someone else's servers and out of any single vendor's subscription. It ships as a desktop app rather than a library, so you can download it, connect a model, and start generating and refining interfaces right away. That makes it a good fit for solo developers and small teams who prototype often and want to keep full control of the code they generate, especially when the work touches proprietary or sensitive material.
