Why we included this project
Chaterm puts an AI agent inside the terminal and lets it handle cloud and infrastructure work in plain language. Instead of assembling long CLI pipelines by hand, you describe the job, whether that means deploying a service or troubleshooting a failing one, and the agent plans and executes the steps while you watch. It has ranked second on Terminal-Bench, a benchmark built around real terminal tasks, which suggests the agent holds up on actual ops work rather than just polished demos. Teams with stricter security requirements will also notice the bastion host support and AWS KMS envelope encryption for zero-trust setups. For SREs and platform engineers who want an AI copilot that speaks shell, this is worth a close look.
