Why we included this project
This project hooks OpenAI's GPT and DALL-E 2 into WhatsApp, so you can message the bot like a regular contact and get back a text reply or a generated image, with voice messages transcribed and answered instead of dropped. You'll need Node.js, an OpenAI API key, and a real WhatsApp account, and it drives an actual WhatsApp Web session through Puppeteer rather than a sanctioned bot API. That works, but WhatsApp does not permit unofficial clients, so blocking is a real possibility to weigh before relying on it. The project is also explicitly unmaintained, which makes it more useful as a well-documented reference for building your own messaging chatbot than as software to adopt as-is.
