Why we included this project
Griffith is a React video player that handles the streaming details for you. It plays mp4 and HLS sources through Media Source Extensions, so you get segment loading without writing MSE glue code yourself. Zhihu built it for its own web and mobile web properties, and the player has been running in production there long enough that the awkward cases, buffering hiccups and format quirks, have mostly been ironed out. There is also a standalone UMD build if you need the same player on a page that is not React. Teams that want a predictable component rather than a heavyweight embed will find it a solid fit.
