Why we included this project

This is a curated index of the AI agent ecosystem rather than software you install, and the curation is the point. It gathers the foundational survey papers and the explainer articles and videos worth reading, then tracks the major agent frameworks and protocols that have appeared since 2023, from LangGraph and CrewAI to the OpenAI Agents SDK, MCP, A2A, and browser-automation tools. Each entry carries a short plain-language note on what the project does and why it matters, so a developer or tech lead can quickly tell a framework from a protocol from a coding agent without reading every README. The maintainer keeps the list current, adding active projects and flagging when older ecosystem entries have been superseded. It is a good starting map for deciding which agent stack to evaluate, and a handy reference for staying oriented as the field keeps moving.
