Why we included this project
autoMate is the layer that sits between your chat client and your machine, so whichever AI you actually like using gets real access to your files and data. Once it's installed and connected over MCP, OpenClaw, Claude Desktop, Cursor, or Cline can write notes, drop files, schedule phone reminders, search your library, and call shell, browser, or 31 SaaS tools. Everything lives on your hardware in SQLite with encrypted storage, so files and cross-session memory survive when you switch AI vendors or chat apps. There's also a standalone web chat with its own agent loop for quick local queries without another client in the middle. That persistence is the point for teams who change tools mid-project: today's client writes the notes, and the next one reads them back.
