Why we included this project

OpenClaw is a personal assistant that runs on your own hardware and meets you in the messaging apps you already use. It connects to WhatsApp, Telegram, Slack, Discord, iMessage, and Signal through a self-hosted gateway, so one person can drive models, tools, and device actions without leaving their chat app. Under the hood there's a local control plane that handles sessions, tools, events, and channel connections, with a web UI, CLI, and TUI, plus companion apps for voice, camera, and screen on supported platforms. It works with hosted or local model providers, and tools, skills, and plugins let you extend it. Because it's built for a single operator and stresses owning your data, it's a good fit for developers and small teams who want a personal agent without shipping their conversations to a third-party cloud.
