Why we included this project

The tool takes epub, txt, md, srt, and pdf files and produces a bilingual ebook that keeps the source page next to the machine translation, so you can compare the two as you read. Because it works through the liteLLM adapter, you can route requests to OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, or other providers and pick the model and cost tier that fits rather than being locked into a single API. A sample book ships with the repo, and an installable bbook command makes it easy to test on a short file before committing to a longer one. Since the project is meant for public-domain works, it is a practical fit for translators and language learners who want machine output without losing sight of the original text.
