Why we included this project
Burned-in subtitles and text watermarks are baked into the pixels, so a normal video editor can't just delete them. VSR handles the job locally, with no third-party API involved: it detects hard-coded subtitle regions and text-like watermarks, then fills the removed areas with plausible background rather than leaving a blocky void. You can point it at a specific subtitle zone for surgical cleanup, let it scan the whole video for any text, or batch-process multiple images to strip watermarks. Output keeps the original resolution, and prebuilt Windows packages plus a Docker image spare you from assembling a full AI stack yourself. It's a self-contained utility for anyone who regularly cleans source footage before reusing it.
