Why we included this project

An AI assistant that needs to work with Xiaohongshu (RedNote) has to get past the platform's login requirement before it can do anything useful. This MCP server is built around that: it exposes tools an agent can call to search posts, read full post details with comments and interaction data, pull user profiles, and fetch the homepage recommendation feed. It also covers writing, so an assistant can publish image-text and video posts, write and reply to comments, and like or unlike notes, which makes it useful for content research and for automating community engagement. The project ships as a Docker image, and a browser-extension variant exists for people who would rather not run a server at all. Just know that login is still required and some operations depend on the xsec_token that appears in feed and search results.
