Why we included this project
ARGO is a desktop AI agent client that runs the autonomous research workflow Manus made popular, but keeps your data local. It bundles one-click Ollama model downloads, API access to OpenAI, Claude, and DeepSeek, and an offline RAG knowledge base, so you can mix local and hosted models without reconfiguring. The task engine handles intent recognition and planning, calls tools, and corrects its own mistakes, and it ships with a practical toolset covering web crawling, browser control, and MCP support for local and remote tools. The Agent Factory also lets you build scenario-specific assistants instead of being stuck with one canned workflow. That local-first design makes it a reasonable choice for research-heavy work where privacy or offline operation matters.
