Why we included this project
If you often trim hours of interview or lecture footage down to the parts worth watching, and podcasts are a regular part of your workflow too, this command line tool takes over the boring cutting automatically. It analyzes a video's audio loudness and motion to find dead air and motionless stretches, then deletes them while letting you set the detection threshold and add padding around each edit so the result feels natural. You can switch between audio and motion detection, combine both, or apply per-track settings when a project has multiple audio streams. Labels go beyond cutting, letting you apply speed, volume, zoom, or rotation effects to specific moments. And if you finish edits in Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve, you can export the edit decisions instead of committing to the tool's own output, making it a practical front-end for rough cuts.
