Why we included this project

PaperSpine targets researchers and graduate students who need journal papers, conference submissions, technical reports, or competition manuscripts, and it works differently from a generic 'improve my text' prompt. It installs a structured skill into Claude Code, Codex, OpenClaw, or Hermes CLI that guides the agent through twelve gated stages, starting with studying strong example papers and the target venue, then forcing you to confirm the paper's core contribution before real drafting begins. The skill builds a claim-level citation support bank, runs integrity and reviewer audits, and can compile LaTeX, PDF, and Word output. The hard gates are what make it interesting: the workflow refuses to call a manuscript finished until contribution, results-validation, and reviewer-audit checks all pass, so teams get a reproducible, auditable writing pipeline instead of one-off polish. It also rewrites existing drafts, builds papers from a folder of source materials, and can generate submission packages and review responses.
