Why we included this project

Vocode is for developers who want a language model to hold a real conversation over a phone line or a video call. It handles the messy parts of a live voice loop, like turn-taking and streaming audio, while letting you plug in your own speech-to-text and text-to-speech providers. Outbound calls, inbound numbers, and joining a Zoom meeting are all covered, and you can also wire a phone call into a larger LangChain agent. For a small team that wants a working voice assistant without assembling the vendor stack by hand, Vocode is a solid place to start.
