Why we included this project
Plate is a React editor framework built on Slate.js, and it covers the range from a bare-bones text field to a Notion-style document editor. Instead of wiring up the editing engine yourself, you pick from a plugin system, headless primitives, and ready-made shadcn/ui components, then style them to match your app. The Copilot plugin adds ghost-text suggestions and AI-powered completion inside the editor, with providers like OpenAI and Anthropic plus an MCP integration for tooling. If you already build in React and want a WYSIWYG surface with AI assistance built in, the templates and CLI get a working editor up fast.
