Why we included this project

OpenAlice applies the collaboration habits of software teams to trading. Instead of keeping research, notes, and positions scattered across a terminal, a browser, and a broker app, it gives an AI agent a real workspace: a directory with git history, markdown issues, a terminal, and logs. That means a human and an agent can work on the same portfolio the way a developer and a coding assistant work on the same codebase. Orders and position changes sit behind approval gates, so the human stays in control, and the agent's coverage extends across equities, crypto, commodities, forex, and macro themes. Because the project is explicit about being experimental and its trading layer is in beta, it makes more sense for paper trading and backtesting than for unattended live money.
