Why we included this project

Chat On Steroids lets ChatGPT reach into your own machine, not just answer in the browser. A desktop app for Windows, macOS, and Linux runs a local MCP server that exposes only the folders and capabilities you approve, so the model can read and patch files, run shell commands, and on Windows drive the desktop, all inside a permission boundary you set. The companion Chrome extension adds session capture, richer tool rows, Compact & Resume, and experimental multi-agent worker chats, and a Goal loop lets a second model keep drafting until a task is done. If your team already works in ChatGPT and wants a local-first way to let it touch real code and tools, this is a straightforward setup with an unusually honest security story about what is sandboxed and what is not.
