Why we included this project
REAL Video Enhancer is a desktop app that gathers the common video restoration jobs into one interface: frame interpolation to smooth motion, upscaling to higher resolutions, and cleanup passes that reduce compression artifacts and noise. It wraps established models like RIFE for interpolation and Real-ESRGAN-style upscalers, and it runs on Windows, Linux, and macOS with a choice of inference backends so you can match one to your GPU. For anime and footage restoration, archival upscaling, or frame-rate conversion, it's a friendlier alternative to older tools like Flowframes, and you don't need to write scripts to get results. One caveat before you rely on it: the project is currently archived, so treat it as a solid reference for how these tasks are wired together rather than software expecting active development.
