Why we included this project
The experience and skills a senior engineer or long-time teammate takes with them usually leave for good when they do. Distilly addresses that loss by turning exported chats, notes, interviews, and public writing into a portable Person Profile an agent can install and invoke as a Skill, so the profile reflects decision patterns and ways of working rather than just echoing phrasing. Profiles stay grounded in the source material and, because they follow the AgentSkills standard, run on hosts like Claude Code, Hermes, OpenClaw, Codex, and DeepSeek Harness without a custom runtime. That makes it practical for preserving hard-won knowledge inside a team and for prototyping more lifelike agent personas.
