Why we included this project

OpenAgent is a self-hosted assistant that packs LLM connections, a document RAG store, and autonomous agent loops into a single binary. Its agents can do more than chat: they drive a real browser, run shell commands, and call any MCP-compatible tool, with each action shown step by step so you can see what it did and why. The admin panel adds a visual workflow builder with scheduling plus per-provider token and cost analytics, which suits teams that want a controlled, multi-tenant deployment behind their own SSO. For developers and small ops teams, that means not having to wire together a browser tool, a retrieval pipeline, and a gateway themselves. The native Windows build runs without installation, which is handy for quick local experiments before rolling it out.
