Why we included this project

This MCP server gives Claude and other MCP-compatible agents read access to LinkedIn through your own logged-in browser session, so profiles, companies, job postings, the home feed, and inbox conversations all become reachable without paying for a separate API key. Setup stays simple for an individual user because the tool rides on your existing account, with the tradeoff that it inherits whatever access and rate limits that account has. The tool surface covers enough ground to be genuinely useful for research and outreach work, and the project is kept active, which matters here because LinkedIn changes its page structure often and scraper-style tools rot quickly. Teams that need managed auth, higher volume, or Sales Navigator and Recruiter data should look at the hosted alternative, but for solo agents and small automations the self-hosted route is a solid choice.
