Why we included this project

Brigade runs a small crew of AI agents on your own hardware, sharing a memory graph so they can work together on tasks that need more than a single chatbot. Instead of one assistant, you get a set of specialists that route work between themselves, keep long-term context in a knowledge graph you can open in Obsidian, and pause to ask before touching anything sensitive. Everything runs locally, even on a Raspberry Pi, with API keys sealed on your machine and no telemetry sent anywhere. You can sign in with an existing Claude, ChatGPT, or Copilot subscription, or reuse a Claude Code or Codex CLI login, so you don't have to manage separate keys. The included benchmark command sends your agents out onto the open internet to see how they hold up, which gives you a practical sense of whether they're ready for real work.
