Why we included this project

Teams that live in Jira and Confluence will get the most out of this one: the server makes those products speak Model Context Protocol, so an AI assistant can search issues, read or create wiki pages, and move tickets between statuses. Configuration is just a handful of environment variables in the MCP settings of an editor you already use, like Claude Desktop or Cursor, plus your Atlassian credentials. It supports Cloud and Server/Data Center installs and exposes roughly ninety-eight tools across the two products, enough to cover everyday chores such as finding the issues Authentication stays on standard API tokens or personal access tokens, so you do not have to introduce a new credential model. If your agent needs to act on ticketing or documentation, this saves you from writing that connector yourself.
