Why we included this project
Gifski is a macOS app built around the gifski encoder, and that choice shows in the output. The encoder uses cross-frame palettes and temporal dithering, so the GIFs keep thousands of colors per frame and can run at up to 50 FPS instead of degrading into a dithered mess. Around the core conversion sit practical controls for resizing, cropping, frame rate, quality, and looping, plus a bounce playback effect, and the app hooks into the system through a share extension, a service, and a Finder Quick Action so you can convert without opening it. It reads the formats macOS handles natively, including H.264, HEVC, and ProRes, and the quality slider lets you trade file size against fidelity when an upload limit is tight. Designers, developers, and anyone documenting UI motion will find it a reliable everyday tool rather than a one-off utility.
