Why we included this project

shot-scraper takes Playwright's browser automation and exposes it as a handful of command-line commands, so you can capture pages repeatedly without writing browser test code. Documentation maintainers get the most out of it: point it at a YAML file of URLs and selectors, run it in CI, and your screenshots stay in sync with each release instead of being redrawn by hand. The javascript command also handles scraping, executing code against a live page and returning data to the terminal, and there's a mode for recording short video walkthroughs of a site. A GitHub Actions template gets you started without installing anything locally, which is handy for scheduled captures. If you already use Playwright, this is a thin, predictable wrapper; if you just want one command to grab a page, you never have to touch the browser automation APIs.
