Why we included this project

Vector search handles a lot of agent retrieval, but teams working on underwriting, claims, or compliance reviews usually find it can't answer the follow-up questions auditors and regulators eventually ask. Semantica turns enterprise data you already have into a governed knowledge graph, with entities, relationships, and conflicts surfaced explicitly rather than silently overwritten. Every fact carries W3C PROV-O provenance, and the deterministic reasoning engine with Datalog and SPARQL support lets you trace exactly why a decision was made, in a form that still holds up months later. If you run on Databricks or Snowflake, it can pull straight from Unity Catalog or your warehouse into graph nodes with lineage, so there's no separate export hop. It's a heavier lift than a plain retrieval pipeline, but for regulated domains where explainability is non-negotiable, that tradeoff is the point.
