Why we included this project

Video editors and post-production teams often need to remove something from a shot, a passing car, a person, a watermark, or a stray sign, and ProPainter is built for exactly that. It fills the removed region across the whole clip rather than frame by frame, combining flow-based propagation with a transformer so the results stay temporally consistent and do not flicker or drift as the video plays. The repo ships with pretrained weights, inference scripts, and a Colab-friendly demo, which makes it quick to test against your own footage. It is an ICCV 2023 paper, a useful signal about the quality of the method. Just be aware the license is non-commercial unless you arrange a separate agreement with the authors.
