Why we included this project

Choosing an agent harness is mostly a matter of comparing runtimes, and this list is built for that comparison. The maintainers curate and rank 160-plus harnesses and orchestration frameworks, with filters for capability, autonomy, and failure recovery, the dimensions that matter when an agent runs unattended. Beyond the index, they publish head-to-head pages for common decisions like terminal coding agents, multi-agent orchestration, memory layers, and sandboxed code execution, plus a guide that walks you through picking one. The data is also exposed as an MCP server, llms.txt, and JSON, so an agent can query the same recommendations rather than inherit whatever harness someone else benchmarked. Weekly rescoring keeps the rankings current, which is more than most static awesome-lists offer.
