Why we included this project

ShortGPT is a framework for automating short-form video production. You give it an idea, and it chains an LLM-written script, background footage, a synthesized voiceover, timed captions, and a final render, so you can publish YouTube Shorts or TikTok clips without sitting in an editor for hours. It also includes engines for longer videos and for dubbing or translating existing footage into other languages, which extends it beyond a single format. Because the core is a set of composable Python engines rather than a closed app, you can rework the editing pipeline to match your own branding. Keep in mind the project is experimental: plan to read the installation notes and run it via the provided Docker image or Colab notebook before relying on it as a turnkey service.
