Why we included this project

This desktop tool is aimed at anyone who needs to archive WeChat Official Account content. It batch-downloads a public account's article history to local files, including comments and collection (album) series, and can save each piece as HTML, MHTML, Markdown, PDF, DOCX, or a CSV index, while also pulling the embedded images, videos, and audio out of every article, which is what makes it practical for building a searchable offline archive. Setup is unusually easy because it does not require installing a root certificate: you paste an article link to get the account ID, then authenticate by opening a copied link inside WeChat. The MCP and Skill support will interest automation-minded users, since it lets you drive the downloader programmatically or from an AI agent for batch export tasks instead of clicking through the GUI. The tool targets Windows and macOS, and the project's disclaimer asks users to keep downloads to personal learning use.
