Why we included this project

PenguinHarness is a desktop and server tool that turns a one-line description of what you want into a working agent, generating the scaffolding, the code, and the run instructions along the way. Instead of hand-assembling agents with a framework like LangChain, you state the task and the tool produces the agent, then keeps refining it: each round it benchmarks its own output, fixes the weak spots it finds, and ships an improved version with a snapshot taken beforehand. It comes with ready-made skill groups for data analysis, software engineering, and agent tuning, and it is tuned to run cheaply on open models such as DeepSeek, so teams watching their token budget can iterate freely. The Trace view and evaluation center keep the self-improvement loop visible rather than a black box, which matters when you are letting an agent rewrite itself. For anyone who wants to prototype or run agents that build and improve other agents, this is a practical, self-hostable place to start.
