Why we included this project

Orkas-VideoStudio is for teams that are tired of wrestling rough briefs into finished videos, since it hands the actual production work to a coding agent like Claude Code or Codex. You describe the clip in plain language, say a 60-second vertical explainer with a Chinese voiceover and captions, and the agent writes an editable plan.json that holds the whole timeline. Change one line in that plan and only the affected segment re-renders. Composition and editing run locally on ffmpeg, hyperframes, and whisper.cpp, so those parts need no paid API keys, while AI footage generation uses your own provider credentials. The result is a readable, diffable video build that a human or a machine can inspect and re-render, which makes it an appealing alternative to black-box video generators.
