Why we included this project
SadTalker turns a single frontal portrait photo and an audio clip into a talking-head video with lip movements and head motion that follow the speech, and it offers a few stylization options so results don't all look identical. That makes it useful for animators, content creators, and engineers assembling avatar or virtual presenter pipelines who want a fast way to generate footage from existing images and voice tracks. Because it can run from the command line, a Python script, or a Gradio/Colab demo, it fits into automated video workflows without forcing you to click through a UI. The accompanying CVPR 2023 paper and model weights are documented, which helps when you need to understand the limitations or adapt the method. Just be aware that believable synthetic talking heads raise real deepfake and ethics questions, so plan for responsible use before putting this into production.
