Why we included this project

Solon is a Java framework written from scratch for teams that want backend services without the usual Spring Boot weight. It bundles dependency injection and AOP, routing, serialization, microservices, and RPC into a non-servlet runtime, and the project's own numbers claim around ten times faster startup with roughly half the memory usage. That footprint is the main draw for teams that run small containers or production servers where memory is tight. If you also build AI features, the solon-ai subproject adds ChatModel dialogs, RAG knowledge-base tooling, MCP server and client support, and ReAct or team-style agents, so model calls live inside the same Java service instead of a separate stack. It is a sensible pick when you want one framework to cover both ordinary web work and LLM features.
