Why we included this project

OpenShot is an approachable open-source video editor that runs natively on Linux, macOS, and Windows rather than in a browser tab. The multi-track timeline handles the everyday work of cutting, trimming, transitions, titles, and audio mixing, and curve-based keyframe animation lets you build moving effects and animated titles without switching tools. FFmpeg underneath provides broad format support for import and export, and there is genuine 2D and 3D animation capability for anyone who wants motion graphics in the same program. It is a practical choice for YouTubers, educators, small production teams, and hobbyists who want to keep projects offline on their own machines and prefer open tooling to commercial suites.
