Why we included this project

For anyone who keeps their notes in Obsidian and wants generative AI right in the editor, this plugin does exactly that without the round trip to a separate chat app. It supports OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Hugging Face, and local models, so you can pick whichever provider you already pay for or run yourself. When you prompt it, the surrounding context comes from your vault, which means the output can build on your existing notes instead of starting from nothing. Templates and a community library of shared ones take care of repetitive jobs like summarizing meeting notes or drafting structured documents. Installing it is straightforward from the community plugin list, and providers get configured through frontmatter settings; those who want more control can build from source.
