Why we included this project

If you have spent time wiring browser automation scripts that break the moment a page layout shifts, Nanobrowser is worth a close look. It packages an AI web agent as a Chrome extension, so the whole automation loop runs inside your own browser instead of on a paid cloud service. You bring your own LLM API key, and the extension runs a small team of agents, a planner, a navigator, and helpers, that split a task into steps, act on the page, and recover when they hit a roadblock. That makes it a practical option for hands-off web research, form filling, or data extraction without a subscription and without sending your browsing session to a third party. Setup is light too: install the extension, drop in a key, and describe the task in plain language.
