Why we included this project

Before you sink weeks into a side project, it's worth knowing whether the space is already crowded or quietly dying. This MCP server automates that check: describe the idea in plain English and it queries GitHub, Hacker News, npm, PyPI, and Stack Overflow in parallel, then returns a 0 to 100 reality score with trend direction, the main competitors, and a suggested pivot. It's built to plug into AI coding agents, so the agent can decide to build, pivot, or kill the idea before any code gets written. The scoring is more useful than a manual search for teams validating startup ideas, and the maintenance-mode status means the tool is stable rather than still evolving. A quick mode checks just GitHub and Hacker News in a few seconds, while deep mode adds package registries and Stack Overflow for a fuller competitive scan.
