Why we included this project
Plausible is an open-source analytics tool for sites that want real numbers without the cookie data going to a big adtech platform. It tracks pageviews, referrers, countries, and devices in a single clean dashboard, and lets you define goals and conversions on top of custom events instead of cookies or IP fingerprinting. That privacy-first design keeps the tool GDPR, CCPA, and PECR compliant by default, and the self-hosted Community Edition runs on your own infrastructure. The tracking script is tiny and supports SPAs and hash-based routing, so it slots into modern front-end stacks with minimal friction. If you want your traffic data to stay in-house and an analytics engine you can extend through its stats and events APIs, this is a practical, lower-maintenance option.
