Why we included this project

MediaCMS is a self-hosted video and media publishing platform built with Django and React, exposing a REST API for custom integrations. It covers the essentials of a video portal: uploads, transcoding, playlists, comments, and per-item public, private, or unlisted visibility, along with role-based access control for teams. It also accepts audio, images, and PDFs, and includes organization-friendly integrations like LTI 1.3 and a Moodle plugin for embedding content in learning systems, plus SAML for single sign-on. Transcription runs locally through Whisper, so uploaded videos become searchable without sending them to a third party. For a small to medium media site, an internal training library, or a branded sharing portal, this is a practical, self-contained foundation.
