Why we included this project

Running several AI coding agents at once usually means juggling a pile of terminal windows. cmux is a macOS terminal built on Ghostty that gives each session its own tab and split pane, with a sidebar showing the git branch, working directory, and open ports for whatever is running in that pane. When an agent needs input, its pane gets a blue ring and the tab lights up, and a notification panel collects pending alerts so you can jump straight to the newest unread one. The layout is scriptable through a CLI and a Unix socket API, and the embedded browser can be driven programmatically, which lets agents check their own web changes. It handles Claude Code, Codex, Gemini, and OpenCode sessions, so if you run more than one of those at a time, this is a good way to keep them from turning into a mess of windows.
