Why we included this project

Anyone hunting for the canonical image-to-image translation papers has a real problem: they are spread across years of arXiv preprints, and the list grows constantly. This index does the sorting for you. It splits the field into supervised and unsupervised work, and nearly every entry links to official or community code, so you can read a paper and run it in PyTorch without hunting for an implementation. Ordering entries by arXiv submission date also gives the collection a rough historical spine, from pix2pix through disentangled and exemplar-guided methods. It is a reading list rather than installable software, but as a syllabus for studying GAN-based translation, or as a starting point when you need a baseline to compare against, it works well.
