Why we included this project

Robotics engineers burn a lot of time tracking down the right library or driver, and this curated index is one of the better places to start that search. It collects hundreds of open and free tools spanning the whole development cycle, from communication and documentation to simulation, sensor processing, and machine learning, with a practical bias toward C++ and Python plus ROS, autonomous driving, and aerospace. Grouping entries by task rather than vendor makes it easy to see what already exists before you build your own perception pipeline, SLAM stack, or calibration routine. It is a reference to browse and learn from, not software you deploy directly, and that is the right role for a list like this.
