Why we included this project
Finding an open model that actually fits a specific industry usually means wading through general-purpose releases first. This curated index narrows that down by grouping vertical-domain LLMs by sector, from healthcare and law to finance and education, and pairing each one with the datasets used to train or fine-tune it and the benchmarks that evaluate it. Entries link to the original repository and often the accompanying paper, so you can check whether a model's training approach and evaluation match your use case before going deeper. The list also tracks the base models most domain releases build on, like LLaMA, ChatGLM, Qwen, Baichuan, and InternLM, which makes it easier to see the lineage behind a specialized model. It is a research and discovery resource rather than something you deploy, but for teams scoping a domain-specific LLM project it is a practical place to start.
