Why we included this project

If you hand-build front ends and just need something to show while an AJAX call finishes, this collection of twelve pure-CSS spinners is a solid pick. Each one has no JavaScript or external dependencies, so adding one to a page means copying a small file or reusing the separate CSS and HTML from the build folder. What sets it apart is that it also ships Stylus and Pug sources, which makes it easy to re-theme with your own variables or fold into an existing build pipeline. At about 1K per spinner, you get a polished loading animation without noticeably bloating the page. It's a lighter, simpler alternative to pulling in a full animation framework for what is often just a few seconds of feedback.
