Why we included this project

Skimming Reddit for AI news every morning works until life gets in the way, and this tool automates the whole sweep instead. It pulls posts from several AI-focused subreddits, has DeepSeek R1 analyze them via OpenRouter, and writes daily English and Chinese markdown reports at 6 AM CDT. It also goes beyond post text: vision models describe images, linked YouTube videos get transcribed and summarized, and attached web pages are scraped and condensed, with database caching so all that enrichment stays cheap. Reports cover the day's top discussions plus weekly and monthly trend shifts, and which subreddits are scanned, which comments count, and whether Groq or OpenRouter handles the calls are all things you set. Everything runs in Docker with MongoDB for storage, so it is a realistic way to stand up a recurring trend monitor aimed at the communities you actually follow.
