Why we included this project

YouDub is a working pipeline for turning a foreign-language video into a Chinese dubbed version that keeps the original speaker's voice. It runs the audio through speech recognition, translates the text with an LLM, and clones the speaker's voice to generate the Chinese narration, then syncs the result back onto the video. The repo is explicitly a legacy snapshot: the README points you to the actively maintained YouDub WebUI, so treat it as a reference implementation and a way to study the full dubbing workflow rather than the tool to install today. For creators and small teams building their own localization pipeline, it's a useful place to see how the pieces fit together before you commit to a stack.
